There are no nouns in Tlön's conjectural Ursprache, from which the "present" languages and the dialects are derived: there are impersonal verbs, modified by monosyllabic suffixes (or prefixes) with an adverbial value. For example: there is no word corresponding to the word "moon," but there is a verb which in English would be "to moon" or "to moonate".

Learning languages is difficult but incredibly rewarding. Currently I'm studying Japanese and Mandarin. My native language is (mid-atlantic american) English, and I speak (and read) okay Hindi. I studied French in grade school, worked in Geneva for a summer, even read some Serre and Deligne, but alas I've forgotten it all. One day I hope to learn a bit of Spanish, Tagalog, and Lebanese Arabic.
